En qué consiste este viaje
Dandong faces North Korea across a river narrow enough to watch the far bank from the bridge the Americans bombed in 1951. Nothing else in the China portfolio offers that. Behind the city there is a forest park that turns as red as anything in New England, and two and a half hours west there is an intertidal flat where a salt-tolerant plant called Suaeda salsa turns thousands of hectares crimson. The three peak together for roughly three weeks in October — a constraint worth turning into the pitch rather than working around.
Día a día
- 1
Día 1 — Arrive Dandong
Into the city and straight down to the Yalu · The bridge was built in 1909 and cut in half during the Korean War; you walk out to where the deck simply stops mid-river, past the shrapnel scars, with Sinuiju close enough on the far bank to watch the day happening on it · Andong Old Street in the evening for the clams and cold noodles the old treaty port is known for · Korean-Chinese dinner.
- 2
Día 2 — Faith, war and memory
An hour and a half up the coast to Dagushan, where Qing-era Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian buildings share a single hillside between the mountain and the sea · Back to the city for the decommissioned naval vessel moored on the river · The Museum of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea — the national museum of a war most of the world files under another name, which is precisely why it is worth two hours.
- 3
Día 3 — The end of the Great Wall
Forty minutes to Tiger Mountain, the easternmost point of the Ming wall — the restored section is a real climb and the view runs along the border in both directions · An hour on to Hekou, a quiet riverside village where the boat gets close enough to make out the fields on the North Korean bank · An hour and a half up to Tianqiaogou for the night.
- 4
Día 4 — Tianqiaogou
A full day in the forest park — old growth, streams and waterfalls, and in the first half of October a maple display that stands comparison with anything · Back down to Dandong in the late afternoon, about two and a half hours.
- 5
Día 5 — Dandong to Panjin
High-speed rail west, about two and a half hours through the Liaodong countryside · Heiguan old town in the afternoon, an immersive set-piece built around Journey to the West — performed rather than displayed, which makes the story land for people who have never heard it.
- 6
Día 6 — Red Beach
An hour or so out to the Red Beach scenic corridor. Suaeda salsa colours the tidal flat from pink in June to deep crimson by October, and the boardwalks run far enough out that the red fills the entire frame · The river crab museum in the afternoon, which is more interesting than it sounds — Panjin farms crab and rice in the same paddies · Crab dinner in season.
- 7
Día 7 — Depart via Shenyang
Two and a half to three hours to Shenyang Taoxian airport for your onward flight.

Notas operativas
Lo que conviene plantear antes de cotizar, no después.
- The full three-sight overlap is roughly the first three weeks of October. Outside it something is always off-season: the maples turn late September to mid-October, the red beach holds colour June to October, and crab runs September to November.
- The war museum closes on Mondays, which constrains which departure days work.
- Photography near the border is regulated. Your guide briefs the group on the bridge and on the river boat; treat it as a rule rather than a suggestion.
- Red Beach colour varies with tide and with the year. It is a natural display, not a managed one.
- Sample itinerary. Dates, hotel ladder and net rates are quoted against your brief.
