The one evening product on our Beijing shelf, and the one guests write to us about afterwards. You start at Nanluoguxiang as the light goes, cut away from the main run into the quieter hutongs behind it, and eat as you walk — silky imperial yoghurt, traditional snacks, then a steaming Mongolian hot pot with beer near the water. The walk finishes on Houhai bar street, so the evening can continue if you want it to.
