Haichang Ocean Park

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park sits on Dishui Lake in Lingang and turns polar tanks, deep water and night fireworks into a harbour you can play in. It is a way from Lujiazui. That is why the wind at the exit is sea wind.

Where

Lingang, Pudong, Shanghai

Season

April–June · September–November

Stay

One day

Penguins, belugas, coral and a coaster share one ground. Family routes stay in the halls; younger visitors chase the fireworks on the lake. Lingang's scale is open, unlike the density of Puxi — Shanghai putting another future in the south.

Do not stack it with the Bund and Yuyuan on the same day. Give Lingang its own day, then walk Dishui Lake and watch the wind draw fine lines on the water.

Keep the night. When the lights hit the lake the city briefly becomes a port fair. Shanghai rarely offers that kind of looseness.
