What this journey is
Two day trips run back to back would put Zhouzhuang and Suzhou in the same Shanghai-return pattern twice, and both would be rushed. This does it properly: Zhouzhuang on the first afternoon with the Twin Bridges, Shen’s House, Zhang’s House and the paper-cutting session, then a night in Suzhou; the second day is the Lingering Garden, Panmen and Tiger Hill before returning to Shanghai. One hotel night is all it costs.

- Rates do not apply over the China International Import Expo or Chinese New Year. Other major trade fairs are usually fine at more than a month's notice.
- Booked inside a fair week, vehicles and guides get scarce and pricing moves with the market.
- Large groups may need a luggage vehicle, which is quoted on top.
- An evening meal or an evening activity adds a guide and vehicle surcharge.
