What this journey is
Lingshan’s Grand Buddha was completed in 1996 and stands 88 metres in open-air bronze on the Taihu shore. Nianhuawan, next to it, is a purpose-built Zen town of tea houses, halls and lanes that fills the afternoon. It is a different register from the gardens and canals the rest of this shelf trades in, and it is the reason Wuxi shows up on a Jiangnan routing at all. Pick-up can be from a Shanghai, Suzhou or Wuxi hotel, which makes it easy to slot mid-itinerary.

Operational notes
The things worth raising before you quote it, not after.
- Nianhuawan’s water show is an evening event; a day trip from Shanghai will normally leave before it. Say if the client wants it and we will rebuild the day.
- The nine-day Jiangnan programme splits Wuxi over two days and adds Three Kingdoms City, Water Margin City and Turtle Head Isle.
- Pick-up from Suzhou or Wuxi shortens the day considerably.
- Rates do not apply over the China International Import Expo or Chinese New Year. Other major trade fairs are usually fine at more than a month's notice.
- Booked inside a fair week, vehicles and guides get scarce and pricing moves with the market.
- Large groups may need a luggage vehicle, which is quoted on top.
- An evening meal or an evening activity adds a guide and vehicle surcharge.
